Meher Varma received a PhD in anthropology from UCLA in 2015.

She now lives in New Delhi where she works as a brand strategist and storyteller. All her food and fashion writing and narrative based critiques of the lifestyle industry in South Asia are characterized by an ethnographic lens. Outside of work, cooking, swimming, and long, languorous conversations occupy her time.
